Wedgaffrs, like most members of its family, are highly territorial towards one another. However, fights amongst individuals in territorial disputes aren't as aggressive, and deaths during these confrontations are rare. When two adult Wedgaffr confront each other, fights often result in one of them backing out, fighting each other with their teeth or body strength alone.
Wedgaffr adults can go for weeks without food. It often scavenges on carrion, though does hunt by ambushing prey. However, it doesn't move very fast, only able to reach top speed of 10 MPH. It goes out at night, to hunt nocturnal creatures, but won't venture too far from the entrance. Once it manages to find food, it'll bring it back to its underground refuge, where it'll consume it to avoid competition from outside scavengers. It also engages in Cannibalism, grown adults known to kill and consume juvenile Wedgaffr when the opportunity arises.
The Wedgaffr is an egg-laying animal, laying only 3-5 eggs at one time during breeding season. The female will guard their eggs from egg thieves and other Wedgaffrs for 10 months until the eggs hatch, to which the juvenile Wedgaffr grow up alone. For the first few years, Wedgaffr siblings live together until they are 10 years old, which they start becoming aggressive towards one another.
