Musanbraite

Musanbraite is an extrusive mineral formed from the exposure of detritum to wind erosion. It has an average metal content of 51%.

The mineral was first discovered by the Loranche Somarinoa on the planet Litvaardpa Dummi.

Musanbraite is similar to other outcroppings of detritum found throughout the Euclid Galaxy, and has rolls of rough segments stacked upon each other. In the case of Musanbraite, it was created when segments of detritum were pushed out of the inner crust and extruded through the surface due to volcanic activity—specifically by hot magma flowing up from underneath it. Because of this, the Musanbraite is fused at its base to a pillar of mostly-intrusive magma. In some instances, the Musanbraite has sections or even its entirety covered in some of this magma, which cooled so rapidly that it formed a glass-like obsidian sheen across the mineral's surface. Like others of their kind, Musanbraite is often found with small bits of vegetation sprouting from it; in the case of this particular mineral, the species most often seen growing out of it is known as Musancap.

After its discovery in August of 3417, a rush of exocraft miners flocked to the planet to mine the mineral. As of July of 3418 it was reported that all known outcroppings of Musanbraite had been excavated. Although researchers assume there is still plenty of the mineral somewhere on the planet, as of mid-3422 no new outcropping have been found.
