"Leslianchets are a species where both the pretty females and the scheming males merge into one body during their early years. After that time, the female drags the disastrous male behind her for life."
Vacotor Database

Leslianchets (sometimes referred to as Chetanleslis when viewed from the posterior) are Monikerian Mergers indigenous to the planet Monikeria.

Chetanlesli Spore

Like their Merger kin, they begin life as separate entities—in this particular case, the females are bird-like known as Leslis and males are insectoid Chets. Leslis lack colored irises and because of this, their eyes do not restrict light entering the retina to just the pupil itself. This causes them to get an over-saturation in the day, and thus the females are generally only seen at night.

Mating habitsEdit

Leslis are known for their beautiful red-and-gold plumage. They are highly prideful of their appearance, hoping to attract males of excellent genetic stock to become merged with. Preening often takes 4 to 5 hours each day. Upon reaching maturity their rostrum begins to sweat copious amounts of sticky, sap-like fluid from one specific spot and they instinctively seek out a specific mineral in their local environment. Once they find some, they rub their rostrum along the minerals until bits of it are picked up. Following this they take a few days and then gently run their bills in saltwater or brackish water—the chemical reaction leads to crystallization and gives them a sort of "nose gem" that is used to attract a mate.
