Media appearances[]

The Vuunega Chronicles: The Story of the Aurix (2006–2008)[]

Urn Koryl Card

Original sprite.

The Urn Koryl were created to appear in this Spore interactive fan-fiction written and played on the GameFAQs forums in 2006. They were created for Chapter 3 as a potential home for the Eelix that the players were at the time. Although they used it temporarily, they fled after several were killed by making contact with the koryl. This ultimately led the creator to split the player species into a second offshoot lineage called the Zrrm which ultimately became the Zrrmzasha, Zrrnigor, and Zrrnigoth.

Spore (2009)[]

The Urn Koryl was created in Spore, though went unused in any Galactic Adventures.

Amalgam Online (2013)[]

Urn Koryls appear in a couple of locations within the Amalgam Galaxy. They can be found on the planet Vuunega as well as in the Galactic Zoo.

Monster Space (2014)[]

In Monster Space, the Urn Koryl appear in as a zone hazard in tropical coral reef biomes. Touching them will paralyze the player and deal a small amount of damage. This can be dangerous by making the player prone for potential attack by enemies in the region or even make it harder for the player to reach the surface before drowning. They will only spawn in tropical saltwater bodies of water.

Dangerous Wilds (2015)[]

In Dangerous Wilds, the Urn Koryl continue to be found in the same biome locations and with the same conditions attached. However they can also be harvested to create a mace-class weapon. This weapon, simply called "Urn Koryl", will cause paralysis when it hits an enemy but can only be held when wearing full-coverage hand equipment (ie, fingerless gloves won't work) or the player will receive the paralysis status effect randomly as well, potentially making it a slight two-edged sword.
