Pasha Kierkegaard, called Pasha, is a Bio-Morph explorer and intellectual. The protagonist of Testament, acting as the Bio-Morph of Denmark. Identified as a human named Erasmus Randolf.

Born in the final year of Belus V's reign. He was raised by Anshan Cyrus as a baby to be his intellectual disciple. Later granted a position as a member of the imperial guard for the morph empire. He was mostly an exploration type. Scouting uncharted systems and laying the groundwork for morph control.

In 1848, he led an exploration team in the Sol system, discovering the human race. He created the Earth Exploration Committee (later Human Readiness Committee) to study in hopes alien contact could uplift them as a client race. This long planned exploration would never see full fruition. In 1849 Pasha successfully led a crew of 140 hunyago against a Skeke regiment who were planning on exterminating all life within the system to prevent the morph's from gaining a possible ally.

Despite having secured victory against the skeke empire, the empire still continued the path to deliberate collapse and was replaced with an isolated authoritarian system. He was stripped of his legal authorization to continue the Earth Exploration Committee when the Self-Determination Act's 1854 protocol was signed by Cyrus. Pasha later experienced a falling out with him regarding the successor state of the Empire, the expulsion of non-morph's from the home systems, and the publication of the Cyrus-Instan Agreement. In response to the creation of the Bio Administration, he left the home system with a 17.6 billion diaspora to find refuge elsewhere. For his assistance in leading refugee's to Epione, he became the synonymous face of the diaspora. Leading for the remaining years of the 19th century. Failing two relationships with Dagmar Vilma and Orlaithe Cahan. Until returning to the Earth years later.

Biographical Notes

It is unknown of Pasha's genuine name or the identities of his biological parents. What is known was that he was born in 800 CE from an underaged couple. An old pre-spaceflight law regarding adolescent promiscuity, dictated he be taken away from custody and be brought to Esid where he would be adopted by anyone willing to care for him. He personally added the last name "Kierkegaard" after reading the book Either/Or written by the Danish philosopher Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, a human, during a routine exploration of Northern Europe (Denmark 1848). Before this he was simply known as Pasha when he was a intellectual student of Anshan Cyrus. The pronunciation of his first name had two soundings: Ba-shaw or Paw-sha.

Pasha, during his time in the empire, comes as a recurring face in pictures that show various imperial officials, but the desire to figure his true identity was never pursued by anyone as the more notable officials seemed to always get the spotlight. His fame as the Face of Exiles, was placed upon him when he guided the first refugee's to Epione. Most people morph or non-morph began referring to him as 'the famous Kierkegaard'. Unaware of the names human origin.

A common sight for Pasha is his constant drinking. Preferably wine. Something that has followed him for the return to Earth. Stress from his title including the post-decolonization/war violence that continue to plague the morphs for their actions upon first contact.

Revealed during a private chat between Cyrus and Pasha, he seems to have tachycardia. A condition he was born with that seems to arise unexpectedly.

History

Sol system exploration and humanity discovery

Then known as Pasha, leading a group of others on a exploration trip, went into uncharted territory in No-Man's Land. The first several planets are charted as uninhabited. The third ring of the solar system shows life-signs on the worlds major continents on the planet scanner. Curious of this, he places his teleportation coordinates at exactly 56° 11′ 0″ N, 9° 33′ 6″ E. Landing in the recently settled region of Silkeborg, Denmark. Pasha used his cloaking to look for potential people to morph in to. He would later locate the city of Copenhagen further east of his original landing. Before returning back to orbit to relay his findings, he purchased a book using duplicated danish coins from his device. And a full alphabet of the Danish language.

First Galactic War

"I am hearing right. The Skeke have invaded the independent systems in a bid to control the galaxy. I heard the Pami and Marduk protectorates have been attacked. Cyrus has ordered me to withdraw from the Sol to lead a defense at one of the colonies near the independent border. But I can't leave this system to the Skeke. Us abandoning a lesser race to the mercy of a greedy power is not something I want to live with. Myself and the others have ordered a strict watch over the Sols border. If the Skeke do come here, however size, we will be ready. I just hope aid will arrive. Fera guide us."
— Pasha's writing personal thoughts of the situation

Just one year after the commission of the Earth Exploration Committee, members received notice that the Skeke Empire had invaded the independent systems. Refusing to leave the still recently discovered humanity to a horrid fate, Pasha, despite the EEC's small personnel, worked to create a sizable force and defense in the event of an invasion. The prospect of assistance was shot down by the fact how far the system was from any of the Morph colonies or independent states to give additional aid against a possible invasion. Although the location given how far it was from the main battles, this proved beneficiary to the Morph's stationed there since most of the fighting took place at the Morph-Skeke border and the upper-left independent areas. Despite that a regiment was indeed sent to the system after collecting information of morph's exploring an uncharted system under the assumption a non-spaceflight race was to be uplifted as reinforcements for the empire. The crew of the Transvaal disabled the ship. Kierkegaard along with Wyman Nodons, Lala Leonie, and Malem Rasis took the bridge.

Post-Galactic War Decolonization and First Clashes

Kierkegaard oversaw the last of the decolonization. The Marduk homeworld, Ninurta was granted independence. Other issues such as the Nergalian Civil War started by Gul Banu, a former associate of the EEC and gente-verde of the planet, plus the gente-azul population of Ninlil rebelling yotha rule due to discrimination were outside official morph jurisdiction. Kierkegaard would listen to news broadcasts of such events happening

Cyrus took control over the interim government of Mergen. Ascendant Leader Jeres was killed from a orbital strike that struck Mergen's capital building. Placing Cyrus as next in the line of succession. Disputes between him and Kierkegaard over methods on how to deal with the current situation started arising. First that non-morph's were being deported en masse due to clashes between monarchists and the left-wing. Something Kierkegaard found baffling. He left his office to continue his work on humanity, only to be told that he signed the Self-Determination Act's 1854 protocol. Preventing him from finishing his work. Then baffled now disappointed in Cyrus. The only assurance Kierkegaard would get is that a protectorate would be established around the system. But no word of human existence would enter earshot of the GA.

Leaving the Nerthus and Arriving to Epione

"I came with 140 people. Now I go with half of them."
— Kierkegaard to himself about former EEC members being separated

Pasha went to Mergen's only viable bay that was headed for Epione. Their he met former members of the EEC, being: Driscoll XI, Malakas Lym, Tassilo Clovis, Lakshman Jeevan, Yoan Ognya, Wenza Kekkin, Jotapa Banu, young Baran, Malem Rasis, Syagrius Merovech, Jordanes Ricimer, and his mercenary companions, Ciro Nelo, Kaiya, and the Zenahir sisters. Moving forward the boarding ramp, he noticed several stayed where they were. One at a time they stated their reason: Lym, the former Overseer of Morphist Enlil, would not leave the Trinity to be hunted for a bounty placed on her head. Nero, not wanting to come across former leaders of independence movements he gleefully sabotaged from within. Kaiya remained silent. Looking at another ship leave. Tassilo and Wenza, also avoiding a bounty. Lakshman, hoping the human blood samples will cure him. Yoan, needing to finish recreating his wife. The sisters not wanting to become separated again. With the reasons clear to him, he went up the ramp only to stopped by the familiar voice of Cyrus. Who introduced him to Quaneisha Vega. As Pasha's very first intellectual disciple. Vega stepped forward. Grabbing hold of his hand. Cyrus, eager to see how far Pasha had learned from him. The ship he boarded then departed. Looking out the nearby window to watch his friends stay as he went. Vega waved at the group staying. Only getting a response from Cyrus.

Private chat between Cyrus and Pasha

Date: 1879 AD, third month of the final year of decade seven, 11:47 AM

Pasha: Cyrus.

Cyrus: Pasha. Good morning.

Pasha: I saw the broadcast. You were there for Instan.

Cyrus: I was. And you were not present. Care to explain that.

Pasha: You know.

Cyrus: I do? I can't be seen with the boy I once raised as my own?

Pasha: Don't call me 'boy.'

Cyrus: Apologies.

Pasha: You hear what people are saying about your little surprise visit?

Cyrus: No. All traffic has been cut off here. Nothing comes in, Pasha. What are 'they' saying?

Pasha: That it was not genuine. I saw a vid where they questioned your motives for coming and bringing the most wanted people in the galaxy as your entourage.

Cyrus: Damn conspiracy theorists! Always lying though their teeth. Instan was my friend. He stood by my decisions. Never giving up when the galaxy was going through it's most arduous period. Helping the diaspora. Saving the GA after I gave up on it. Leaving it with a good reputation. I couldn't have asked for a better friend. I still have that photo of him. The galaxy is lesser with his loss. And you did not answer my earlier question. Why were you not there?

Pasha: Relationship issues. Dagmar left me three years before the funeral.

Cyrus: YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!

Pasha: Because I knew you would be angry about it. Seems I was right.

Cyrus: I'm not angry. Just shocked. What went wrong?

Pasha: Try guiding billions, Cyrus.

Cyrus: I am right now. Now what went wrong.

(User has typed invalid sentence)

Cyrus: Pasha. You can tell me.

Pasha: Is this chat secured on your end?

Cyrus: Yes.

Pasha: Okay. Me and Dagmar talked about this for a long time. She wanted to go further. One night, she stayed to watch a movie. Vega joined us. Dagmar told me to close my eyes. I did. Then I opened them. She had a ring in her hand. It looked nice.

Cyrus: Oh. She wanted to tie the knot. What happened next? What happened next?

Pasha: I couldn't process it. My heart beated like crazy. Like a feral nathair trapped in a cage. Like it wanted to break out of my chest.

Cyrus: Hold on! What do you mean 'couldn't process it'? I've seen you surprised in combat, jumped in all sorts of situations, placed under serious pressure. Coming out fine in the end. And you have a tachycardia episode because someone wants to marry you?

Pasha: Yeah.

Cyrus: I see. What happened next?

Pasha: I blacked out. I woke up in a hospital the next day. Urbain lifted me.

Cyrus: Dammit, Pasha. I told you and him to NOT use that name at all!

Pasha: Relax. Anyway, Dagmar couldn't handle what her attempt did to me. She wouldn't return my calls. Vega even went to look for her once. Nearly got hit by a transit car.

Cyrus: Goddess. Are you and her okay now?

Pasha: Yeah. Should be.

Cyrus: Do you need anything? I have people on Epione who can help you. Money, food, medical treatment. Xanthea and Ciro can help you.

Pasha: No thank you. I don't need your spies help. However, you can tell Xanthea to stop stalking me every time I go to the university to teach people. And Ciro to cease his gathering of homeless. Galaxy has enough feraists as it is.

Cyrus: Just wanted you to be safe. That's all. If this schism is ever to end without bloodshed, I need you to be fit and healthy. I'm sorry about Dagmar. I would have been open to grandchildren.

Pasha: Grandchildren?

Cyrus: Sorry.
